Eventually, at retirement, if I choose to sell my US stock holdings, is this subject to a withholding tax, on top of whatever income tax i will be charged at that point in time?

Also, i have an RRSP investment account at Questrade (questrade review) right now with all funds in canadian dollars. if i convert a portion of this into US dollars, this does not count as a withdrawal from my RRSP, right? it's still under my RRSP, it's just in US dollars, and i won't get fined for withdrawing from my RRSP, right?

I want to buy some US stocks, so i'm getting ready to exchange come CDN to USD.

thanks!
