I've got similar e-series funds in a TFSA and in RRSPs and need to do a little switching around (just realized that the US equity fund would be better held in the RRSP to avoid the withholding taxes).

Does anyone know if I have to do anything special besides wait the required 90 days from the purchase date to transfer units from my the TFSA to my RRSP?

Just want to make sure I'm not triggering any kind of gain or loss when I do the online transfer.

Before I asked that question, I actually should have asked this one:

Does it matter if I switch the US equity fund out to the RRSP? From what I'm now reading online, TD pays the withholding tax BEFORE distributions, so it appears as though it won't matter and I'll still be paying the withholding tax regardless of where the fund is held.

Can anyone confirm?
