Hey everyone! A pleasure to join my Canadian fellow investors on this forum.

Was searching through the forum and for some reason couldn't find one thread that would cover it all with stocks. So, therefore, I want to dedicate this thread to stocks and the stock market alone (if such a thread already exists, please refer me to it, thank you).

Lately, though the market is notorious for bankrupting the American populous as well as the Canadian market a bit, no matter what, I understand the true power behind it and see no fear of investing in it as long as you know what you are doing. I'm in the search for a website (Canadian preferably) that would contain the best educational tools for investing in the stock market and have (seems that I can only dream of this one) its own private fund with a portfolio of great stocks. I'm on the search for quite a while, and I sincerely hope my endless hours of life will be paid off. It's just that there comes a point in time when you simply want to enjoy life and forget worrying about your savings and money.
That's why now more than ever I want to devote my life to the things I love doing (I'm a musician) and trust my money to pro's that know that they are doing.

The thread is about stocks: share experiences and such, and if any of you know of any website that has it all just as described earlier (or something similar) would be very grateful. Thank you!

Am I putting this correctly? You know you should know what you are doing before buying stocks. You have no interest in putting in the time/effort yourself. You don't want to do the Couch Potatoe with ETFs. You don't want to pay someone to do it for you. You want a website where they simply tell you what to buy/sell.

Well, cannot say I agree with your trade-offs, but here is one portfolio source

You sound like someone who will soon be broke unless you make tons of cash.

The pro's suck you can't trust them with your dough. My mutual funds are still down 18% from when I bought them before the crash.

If I have one piece of advice for you it's this "Trust no one" Especially people who say trust me

It's your money if you want to keep it you have to take responsibility for it. Yes I know it sucks but that's the way it is.

I like Globeinvestorgold for my stock news. My mom has a subscription she shares with me. I find my etrade account has horrible news and charts and searches.

Leslie I am not sure your interpretation is what he is after, although I admit I am not sure either.
He wants "educational tools" from a web site. He also mentions a private portfolio of great stocks, so I am not sure if he wants to learn how to do it, or just buy what the web site says to buy.
The fact that he is a musician and wants to forget about savings and money leads me to believe he doesn't want to learn?

My first thought would be to simply "couch" it either ETF, or if he wants to invest monthly , TD e series.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, you may be thinking I am out of my mind for asking what I just did, but lets see what happens. Don't get me wrong, I know more than enough to invest money in stocks on my own, its just that I'm curious to find someone of my own or higher competence on the subject to manage it for me. No need to think I'm lazy etc, I'll do any necessary trades I want on my own. However, why in the world can't there be someone who can do it for you? Someone you trust and admire for the knowledge and expertise? I'm on the quest for exactly that.

I am familiar with people who allocate capital for wealthy families and they are compensated very well, but they don't work for a pittance.

What is the estimated value of your estate?

Rickson9:

Thank you for showing concern! I also do know a lot of people that take care of such matters, once again thank you. The value of my estate (the sum I'm aiming to invest) is in the five figure range and is accumulating each time I add a sum off my paycheck.
I allocated an interesting looking company that has quite an interesting touch and paradigm on investing. It really stands out and is new to the public. Actually really new and is yet to hit the streets. I've just scheduled a lunch with the CEO and CMO of the company. The guys are really friendly. I'm awaiting a spectacular get together. Will keep you posted!

To Humble_pie:

Meeting with them tomorrow. And a CMO is a Chief Marketing Officer, and if you've never heard of such, check out Keith Ferrazzi (the book he wrote is called "Never eat alone", great read btw). Will write in detail about the meet, though they asked to keep their names anonymous for the first bit. Their website will be released in the matter of days (that's what the CEO stated over the phone), so let's simply give it some time.

See, no matter how much money either of us has, it all comes down to the quality of the investment. I can settle for less and live a happy life, but if it so happens that I have a bit more, I learn to live with it and make great use of it.

And as for the estate, I define it as all the assets I have at a given moment, which is now (which is a correct definition btw).

Thanks for the interest though.

Some of you may well have thought that this whole thing with a CEO and CMO was a set up, but let me disappoint you - it wasn't. The two are actually very pleasant men and sorry for waiting so long, made it happen - put forth their company website focusing on stock market education/tips/suggestions/insight/inspiration etc. I apologize for so shamelessly putting up their site

www.TheGutmanGroup.com - check it out if any of you have a minute.

As for this days rally in the markets, well oh well. It's nice to see the market go where it's supposed to go, but still the condition of the US economy doesn't let me sleep 100% calmly, knowing how many are still foreclosing on their houses and losing jobs. So I guess, lets hope for the best. Cheers.
