Is this 25% reduction in draw a 'no brainer' or are there certain considerations that I am overlooking?

If I think the markets will tank at YE, then I should withdraw the whole amount right now.

Wouldn't that mean you would withdraw more now (and pay more tax) than you would when they tank?

On other hand, if markets fully recover by year end, then you still can draw 25% less than you would have on Jan 1st.

I would do the withdrawal now while markets are still lower than they were before Covid. (but not because they may tank). If I thought they will, I would wait until they do! If the money is needed, withdraw when needed!
