My name is Sasha and I am in Kyiv! I have an idea, but before making it real I want to research the Canadian market. I created my survey via Google Forms and tried to find Canadian forum to share my survey. I just registered here and I feel, that I'm glad to be part of the community!

I think it may be very difficult to get a foothold in this market without some existing experience in the country. You should also be aware that Canada, like the US, has a steady supply of mass produced goods of this nature that originate from China, Vietnam, etc. It will be very difficult for you, as an individual business person, to compete against that.

It might be spam... sometimes it's hard to tell. I also don't want to lock out someone making a legitimate business effort.

Sasha: I don't think this forum will be too useful to you. But you might want to get in touch with an organization called "Ten Thousand Villages" in Canada. They provide an outlet to sell crafts from small global producers, so this could be the kind of place you could sell your wares to.

You might also want to get in touch with Ukrainian cultural groups in Canada, for example Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre in Winnipeg. They might be able to point you to potential buyers. But I think you will see best results if you are selling things that are uniquely Ukrainian, that have some cultural significance.

What we need more of is Ukrainian immigrants...best tradesmen around other than the Polish. Oh...we need more of your kielbasa as well , the earlier of your generations that immigrated are starting to cheap out on quality.
