I wasn't really aware of this but just setting up a brokerage account with TD seems to be insufficient if you want to deal in options. IT might be the same at other brokerages but I don't know. Regardless, can anyone who has "upgraded" their account at TD to be able to trade options tell me how to go about doing that?
I believe you need a margin account set up to trade options. I did this a couple years ago. I think I just phoned in, can't remember, may have to go in to a TD branch to sign some documents. Simple process.
