Some web3 platform will crush twitter anyways

The richest man in the world controlling 100% of the free speech platform just shows why we need decentralized platforms with self control of our own data

Those who complained the loudest were quiet when Twitter's board blocked conservatives for no reason. Now that Musk might ease censorship they're suddenly concerned.

Remember, it took just 2 days for the government to create a Ministry of Truth.

Some days it isn't easy being Elon.

Take the money and run Elon. Buy one of the Florida key islands, a big boat and enjoy life.
Jeff Bezos eventually cashed out and bought a few yachts

I don't see Elon doing that anytime soon. Go listen to some of his long form interviews.

He sold all his homes during the pandemic

Any billionaire can buy an island. Musk wants Twitter because he thinks free speech is more important.

All the complainers who say that Musk could have spent $40 billion to solve world hunger aren't demanding that Bezos or Zuckerberg do the same. Those two are never criticized by the left.

"does not seem" means nothing. And since that article is from msnbc I doubt they even tried to find someone with an opposing viewpoint. What a waste of time.

However, Twitter could stop the gossip at any point by providing the numbers. Any legitimate company would not hesitate to do so.

Meh. While stimulating an overheating economy isn't wise, it is the monetary authority, not the fiscal authority, that is responsible for maintaining inflation low and stable. The fisc can stimulate, but it will just lead to higher rates to cool the economy sufficiently by crowding out private investment.

Twitter legal team contacted Musk for violating non-disclosure agreement on the bot thing

So "does not seem" sure seems to mean something to someone in the legal department

Reality is the bots inflate engagement data for their ad sales

So what's the penalty for balking out? A cool $1B ... that's $1,000,000,000 in yankee dollars, please. Meh, a drop in the bucket for these rich boys.

Plus maybe, at least some merger experts think..... a few more billions in lawsuits from Twitter.

They do have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders and may claim Musk damaged Twitter's reputation and value.

The money doesn't matter as much to Musk as his ego does.

It looks like Musk is desperate to find a way out of the deal that leaves him looking good.

From what they are saying on business news, the merger agreement looks ironclad and Twitter says they expect Musk to complete the deal.

It looks like Musk is testing the water but Twitter isn't taking the bait.

It's a normal to pull an offer if the seller misrepresented themselves.

Why would anyone pay full price for a business that only has a portion of the customers that they claim? That's why books are reviewed and due diligence is done.

It turns out the US govt has had to (temporarily at least) shut down their Ministry of Truth once it was discovered that the person they appointed was a known liar with far left bias.

Censorship: the left can't exist without it.

... or Musk needs to take a page out from Dump's book for his legal team (if any) "You're ALL Fired!!!!". And that's from the Ministry of Truth (as soon as Musk takes over). (y)
