Does anyone have experiences with a prepaid CC?

I'm looking for a "throw away" card I can use for online purchases. An anonymous card I can load up using cash.

Here's why - I've had some bad experiences with online recurring services that take your credit card number, then it's like pulling teeth to cancel.

Some examples are online fax services, financial newsletters, classmates.com, I've even had trouble getting the Toronto Star to stop billing me. Some websites are borderline fraudulent and are nearly impossible to cancel billing.

(And if you use a bank-issued CC it's not good enough to cancel it. You're still on the hook for future pre-authorized charges.)
