I think I know the answer?

If I bail out of our actively managed mutual fund, will we pay capital gain/loss on the total ACB for all the funds or will each individual fund be treated separately? The total dollar amount is spread between Can.,US, International etc. Some of the funds have a gain some a loss but all together there is a loss.
There are very few $ left in DSC so that is not an issue but I am tired of paying fees for poor performance.I don't think there is any point in hanging in there for an improvement, it will only cost me money. I already manage 80% of our investments and do as well as the "industry".
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks

You need to record and calculate the loss/gain for each fund. For the purposes of capital gains tax you do end up summing the losses & gains on your income tax return. But you need to have the separate calculations to back up your claim.
I would consider investing in ETF's or index mutual funds (if you want to investment periodically).

Keep all your investment statement and send everything to your accountant ;-)
