I witnessed Pierre Poilievre marching with Canadian veterans, a police escort, and lots of everyday Canadian support

So there is hope for Canada yet. The boomers can't control the country with legacy mainstream media forever

I suspect that the breakdown will be somewhat of the standard glass half full vs glass half empty persona.

When we were in Toronto last week we had a free day. So we walked around. From the entertainment area where we stayed through to Chinatown, Kensington, and UofT.-University and Trinity Colleges.

Convocation was on at UofT. It was so great to see those grads surrounded by their proud parents. The parents so happy that their travails have been worth it. Their children were able to get what they may have been denied.

The other thing that struck me was the what I call the block. That square mile that encompasses Toronto General, Sinai, Sick Kids and all of the UofT buildings, large and small, scattered throughout the area. Such an amazing amount or research and innovation being done in this area. We no longer live in Toronto but was are so thankful that this, and others, exist in Canada. We have all benefited from it.

Our grandson's grade 8 graduation was a fine example of diversity in Canada.

The kids......all cheering for each other with smiles all around, are from all different backgrounds, but they obviously enjoyed the fellowship of their class.

The parents and grandparents, from many cultures cheered every student as they accepted their diplomas and awards. It was a noisy celebration.

They clearly love Canada.

I will introduce myself.

My name is Tom. I am a long term investor. We own a very small number of well run companies and those companies are now taking care of us in early retirement.

I don't know how I can decisively declare Canada being the best or not the best country, when I am only familiar with a handful of countries. Blind patriotism isn't my thing, either. I consider objectivity to be the key to success in life, as it is with investing. Myopia can be an expensive disability.

Happy Canada Day!

I just met up with an ex coworker from the US. Him and his wife drove up here, not realizing it was Canada Day (they thought they were avoiding July 4)... but they're having a great time. With the growing problems in the US and increasing loss of rights and freedoms, they are more seriously considering relocating or immigrating to Canada. They're thinking about the future of their young children.

The wife is a visible minority and she really likes the cultural diversity she sees any time she visits Canada. She says it feels like a very friendly atmosphere and feels like this country is more "sane" ... which is absolutely true.

I don't know if Canada is the best country (best qualify of life) in the world, but I think we're definitely among the best: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, etc

American propaganda is astonishingly powerful. They continue to declare themselves number one at everything while their country is falling apart.

We have a few American friends who have had an epiphany here, also. It's like they don't expect us to have roads, lakes, and beautiful scenery like they have in the US. lol!

Canada does the same thing.
And if you lived in any other country, you would notice they tend to do the same.
It isn't unique

Except not every country is falling apart before our eyes. In some countries, standard of living is actually on the rise, or at least is holding steady.

But you're right that every country pushes their own propaganda. That's natural.
