I appreciate your perspective, jhuichen2012. It sounds like a good time to go all-in, for traders who subscribe to this flavor of technical analysis.

For a fundamentalist investor, I suspect the bottom is still a couple of months away. The worst corporate conditions took place in 2022Q4. Assuming those conditions are over, and I do, those problems will be reflected in Q4 reporting which will take place before March 1.

We may have a situation where knee-jerk reactionaries create high value in response to Q4 earnings. Time will tell.

Personally, I haven't sold a single share because of this or any other market trend. If I respect corporate management, I hang in there with them through thick and thin. Yes, I'm that stubborn. Our portfolio value floats with the market wind. Our ownership status, on the other hand, is rock solid.

I feel like it may be premature to say that Europe is looking stronger than the world. This chart shows the 4 year picture of IEV (Europe) vs VT (world)

European stocks did not recover as well after the 2020 crash. Compared to a pre-pandemic starting level you can see that Europe is still under-performing the world.

The gap has narrowed recently, which is looking promising, but to my eye it does not yet look like Europe has switched to being an outperformer.

Watch some CNBC overnight on the Euro and Asian markets. They aren't sounding all cheery and the gist is that higher rates will continue for some time yet.

It's been less than two weeks but I wish to point out that Mr. jhuichen2012 successfully used technical analysis to predict a short term market up swing. Perhaps this is the start of a new bull market as the subject suggests?

Like so many threads on CMF, his three comments were fundamentally negative. That includes mine. I apologize for that behaviour.

I hope Mr. Jhuichen2012 was able to profit off this clever bit of analysis.

Also, as is standard behaviour, I continue to keep my powder dry and wait for the March/April time frame to invest surplus cash. Despite being wrong, I shall cling to my misinformation as superior to someone else's proven correct information. 😁
