Just wondering... how have you (dividend guys) faired against the index this year? How many dividends stocks, and what percentage of them make up your entire portfolio?
Predominantly nominal bonds followed by US stocks and a single real return bond.
I have no idea how my fixed income investments have fared against the appropriate index. The US stocks have lagged the S&P 500. I don't bother to benchmark segments of my portfolio against indexes. I'm much more interested in how the total portfolio performs against an investable benchmark such as those described here
Benchmarks should always be total returns, not just index returns.
