What makes up the rest of your portfolio? How has that fared against the index?
Predominantly nominal bonds followed by US stocks and a single real return bond.

I have no idea how my fixed income investments have fared against the appropriate index. The US stocks have lagged the S&P 500. I don't bother to benchmark segments of my portfolio against indexes. I'm much more interested in how the total portfolio performs against an investable benchmark such as those described here

It's been a good year so far. Quite a relief after 2008.

* Canadian dividend stocks 38.1%
* US dividend stocks 18.3%
* Total 30.3% in Cdn$

~60 stocks. A lot of tiny positions inside RRSP.

About 70% in dividend stocks. 20% in cash. Rest in ETFs and some old mutual funds.
