What is this trend with online brokerages taking it upon themselves to protect us from ourselves? Being able to make our own (sometimes stupid) decisions is why we use their platforms...

Did they actually stop the inputting of the trade request? Or just posted this message?

^ This message started about the same time as the GME frenzy-trading eruption ... a couple of weeks now? I guess investorEdge left it as is in case it starts up or some other stock frenze erupts too. I ignore it since I hardly trade despite it's a PITA of having to look at it each time and to by-pass it for the sake of some who don't mind joining in on the frenze ...

Based on that message, it won't prohibit you from selling your stocks, it will just put a delay on it because a rep will have to review it first. I don't know why they would have this review situation for sells, it makes more sense for buys IMO. Did you try to proceed with the sell?

I am with CIBC and had the same issue since the GameStop day, All my buying and selling goes straight to pending for review. I have waited anywhere from 3-75 minutes for the order to open for a fill. I have recently opened a new account with TD.

The CIBC client care centre response is that this happens often and clients have signed Waiver of Liability Agreement when they open an account so nothing can be done.
