I just got off the phone with my broker (TradeFreedom). It seems they will not allow me to transfer CCPC shares into my TFSA, they say its "against the regulations." When I asked who's regulations the CSR thought I was trying to argue with him instead of gaining more info.. Anyways.

Has anybody else done this. Do I just need to find another broker?

Shares are "eligible investments" so I don't see what the problem is..

Cheers

So are US dollars acceptable, but the brokerages don't allow.

Think about it. How would they actually value the shares when put in or taken out? How would their back office deal with (what) a hardcopy of share certificate? Etc. They have processes that allow them to automate and make a profit. Dealing with your problem would not be profitable.
