Andrew Springett (a toronto financial advisor) has a new edition of his book out "The new pension strategy for Canadians".

It's a bit mistitled IMO, it's less a book on pensions than it's an entire book dedicated to asset allocation with foundations in modern portfolio theory (it is also quite readable). Contrast that with how most people do asset allocation - pie charts with vague guesses on timelines and risk tolerance. Putting some decent science into asset allocation is the last hurdle for most folks who've taken the time to do the research on their finances.

I feel that the book's important enough for folks to read that I'm giving away 5 copies over at my personal finance blog: www.pfblog.ca.
